Dynasty League Speculative Targets: Malik Willis, Trey Lance, Skyy Moore and More
Dynasty speculation never sleeps! Here's where we stand as the NFL season draws to a close.
Nothing beats a Week 18 "dynasty league speculation" column. Why? Because we can map out a multiverse of bizarre possibilities—grounded in reality, mind you!—and then just shrug if they don't come true. But I will say this much: these are moves I am making or have made in my own leagues. It's not just fluff, people!
Let's dive in!
Fantasy Football Dynasty League Speculative Adds
1. Malik Willis is no longer cheap — but you should be a buyer anyway
If you think you're in on some secret that Malik Willis is a free agent heading into 2026 ... you aren't. You also aren't the only one who has come to the conclusion that the QB class in the 2026 draft is relatively weak. So Willis will likely sign somewhere and will have a shot at a starting job. If recent history is any indication, a "once-highly-regarded QB who needs a few years of experience before recognizing his true potential" is a thing now. Willis fits that mold—he played for a bunch of bad teams and has come into his own when he's been given the chance to start. Sam Darnold, Baker Mayfield, Geno Smith, Daniel Jones ... there's a nice list of recent examples here. And remember, Willis was being mocked in the Top 10 going into 2022's draft (Kiper, Reuter, Trapasso, Mock Draft Database)—so I feel comfortable saying the skill is there. And as good as he may be as an NFL QB, Willis' rushing upside makes him an even more attractive asset. Whoever has him will be asking for a ton in a trade; consider it, as Willis will be 27 next year and has 5-6 good years ahead of him.
2. Zach Wilson and Trey Lance are your Willis backups
If we're going to go with the "skilled QBs just need some time" theory, then Zach Wilson (No. 2 overall in 2021) and Trey Lance (No. 3 overall in 2021) are likely due for some sort of awakening with their fantasy values. Wilson can probably be had cheaper, having been passed over for Quinn Ewers as the late-season starter for the Dolphins; something like that can drive a man's stock down but it may just have been a case of "we know what Wilson can do, let's see about Ewers" from the Dolphins leadership. We're living in a world where the Vikings let Darnold walk in favor of an untested and generally unseen and injured rookie—and the NFL is a copycat league. Having a look at an unknown quantity like Ewers suddenly has a ton of (obvious) value.
As for Lance? We have no clue what he looks like now. Or what he looked like before, really—he's started five games in his career and is unfairly regarded as a bust. I don't buy it; Lance has been in the opposite position of most "stuck on crappy teams" young QBs—he was on 2021 and 2022 49ers teams that almost went to the Super Bowl (and Lance broke his ankle early in '22, which eventually allowed for the emergence of Brock Purdy—so he was traded to Dallas), he missed 2023 recovering, he was passed over for Cooper Rush in 2024 when Dak Prescott went down. Lance's one start in Week 18 of 2024 came with a WR group that looked like this:

... and he still had 244 yards!
Lance has spent 2025 backing up Justin Herbert. He's a free agent after this season, so he could be in the mix for a starting job somewhere and show the untapped promise from five years ago.
3. Skyy Moore is a crazy shot in the dark
Skyy Moore has 5 catches on 7 targets for 87 yards this season. But dig a little deeper and Moore has been a beast on special teams, with 1183 combined return yards:
And while the NFL doesn't have a long list of "return specialists who turn into 1,000-yard receivers," all it takes is the right opportunity and a chance to showcase he's over the drops issues that plagued his early career in Kansas City. Moore obviously has a ton of value in return leagues, but if you're pruning the end of your roster for some upside plays, he's worth a speculative add for 2026 (and beyond).
4. Jimmy Horn Jr. is blocked but has big "if things go right" upside
I'd want to use Jalen Coker as a nice comp for Jimmy Horn Jr.—a skilled WR who could emerge from the doldrums of the depth chart to be a fantasy factor. The problem here is the Panthers are STACKED with young WRs, including Coker, of course. Horn would be a great WR4 on the Panthers a few years ago, with aging wideouts ... but the trio ahead of him right now (Xavier Legette, Tetairoa McMillan and Coker) probably aren't riding off to a better opportunity anytime soon.
Still, in a different situation, Horn could be a great fantasy asset to take a shot on ... which is the perfect situation for a back-end dynasty gambit.
5. You can maybe get Ollie Gordon cheap
I feel like we went on a roller coaster a little with Ollie Gordon this season—the handcuff to De'Von Achane never really had that "glimpse" game where we got to see his massive upside. But massive upside he has! And his current dynasty GM may feel like the fuse wasn't lit and is just a littlllllle bit more out on him than he should be — not that Gordon is a throwaway, but you may be able to pry him away for less than he's worth long term. File this under "hunch," but with Gordon behind Achane (and Achane in line for a possible extension this offseason) and Jaylen Wright, the timing is right to pounce on Gordon, who looks like, at best, a time-share candidate for the near future—but we all know how quickly that can change.
Here are the Utilization Scores for the Dolphins RBs from Weeks 13-16. Remember Recency Bias when going after Gordon!

6. I'm taking a shot on A.J. Dillon
I invite you to do the same. Maybe he's just an underrated handcuff, but A.J. Dillon is going to be just 28 next year and seems to be past the neck stinger issues that caused him to miss all of 2024. Yes, 28 is old for an RB, but Dillon has just 600 career carries—that's like two seasons for Derrick Henry. He's a young 28! But he scored 12 total TDs between 2021 and 2022 and has never had the chance to be the main guy for a significant stretch.
A 28-year-old RB who missed a season with neck issues is as far as one can get from a "hot dynasty asset," but Dillon is a talented back with limited wear who can score—and is a full year removed from the issues. And he's free for a speculative add.
