Fantasy Football Single-QB, 3-WR Mock Draft
Round 1, Pick 4: CeeDee Lamb, WR, DAL
CeeDee Lamb has been one of the best wide receivers in fantasy the last few seasons. The volume will be high and the addition of George Pickens will only help open things up more for Lamb. The Cowboys will be pass-heavy and a healthy Dak Prescott has led to big seasons. Lamb averaged 21.3 PPR points per game last season when Prescott was on the field. The trade of Micah Parsons only means the defense will be worse, putting the Cowboys offense in a spot to pass a lot.
Round 2, Pick 9: Chase Brown, RB, CIN
A high volume back in a high-scoring offense? Sign me up! The Bengals gave Brown a massive workload once he became the starter and they did nothing to bolster the position to indicate it will change. Chase Brown was the RB7 in points per game from Week 6 until the end of the season.
Round 3, Pick 4: Tee Higgins, WR, CIN
Tee Higgins has missed multiple games in three of the last four seasons. When he played last season, he was one of the top fantasy receivers, even being behind Ja’Marr Chase. The Bengals will pass often and be one of the best offenses in the NFL. Higgins was Top 6 in fantasy points per game last season with a career-high 10 TDs in only 12 games. He averaged 75.9 receiving yards per game.
Round 4, Pick 9: Tetairoa McMillan, WR, CAR
Tetairoa McMillan is still a good value in some formats, especially ESPN. McMillan is 6-foot-5 and 212 pounds and is the big target Bryce Young needed. McMillan was taken eighth overall in the draft and receivers drafted that high tend to produce immediately. McMillan will lead the team in targets and getting him as my WR3 is ideal.
Round 5, Pick 4: TreVeyon Henderson, RB, NE
TreVeyon Henderson has been getting a lot of hype and will go higher than this in most drafts. He doesn’t need to be a bell cow back to return value as an RB2. Henderson is explosive and the Patriots will find ways to get the ball in his hands.
Round 6, Pick 9: Calvin Ridley, WR, TEN
Calvin Ridley is undervalued on a lot of platforms. Ridley has consecutive 1,000-yard seasons with bad quarterback play, especially last season. The Titans improved the offensive line and quarterback Cam Ward will be an improvement. Ridley will receive a lot of targets in an offense where he will be the focus of the passing game.
Round 7, Pick 4: Emeka Egbuka, WR, TB
It has all broken right for Emeka Egbuka. Jalen McMillan is out for at least half the season with a neck injury and Chris Godwin won’t be ready to start the season. General Manager Chris Licht said Godwin will miss the first month of the season and possibly more. All the comments coming out of training camp have been positive regarding Egbuka. Even if Godwin returns and is productive, Egbuka will play a role in three-wide sets. Mike Evans is 32 and had hamstring problems last season.
Round 8, Pick 9: Tyler Warren, TE, IND
The Colts took Tyler Warren with the 14th overall pick and he will be a big part of the offense. Warren is great after the catch and the Colts are going to use him all over the field. If you wait at the tight end position, Warren is one of the targets.
Round 9, Pick 4: Travis Etienne, RB, JAX
With five receivers on the roster, it’s time to build up the running back depth. The Jaguars’ backfield is murky, but Travis Etienne was one of the best fantasy running backs two years ago and was slowed by injuries last year. Etienne has been running with the first team and while Tank Bigsby and Bhayshul Tuten could make this a committee, this is the spot to take a chance on Etienne.
Round 10, Pick 9: Jacory Croskey-Merritt, RB, WAS
Bill has soared up draft boards and is often being overdrafted. He was drafted in the fifth round of one of my leagues and I won’t pay that price. Most of my exposure was early in draft season in the double-digit rounds. It’s unclear how Washington will deploy the backfield, but they clearly felt good about Jacory Croskey-Merritt to trade Brian Robinson Jr. With Bill as my RB4, I am not risking much.
Round 11, Pick 4: Kyler Murray, QB, ARI
Kyler Murray disappointed last season and still finished as the QB10. He was coming off ACL surgery and said the knee prevented him from running as often as he preferred. He had a career-low 4.6 attempts per game and rushed for 572 yards with 5 TDs. Running more often is the key for Murray’s success since the volume as a passer won’t be there.
Round 12, Pick 9: Jaydon Blue, RB, DAL
Jaydon Blue fell to the fifth round in a deep running back class. While Javonte Williams is the starter to begin the season, he hasn’t looked the same since coming back from a torn ACL. Blue should be the passing-down back and earn a bigger role if he performs well.
Round 13, Pick 4: DeMario Douglas, WR, NE
DeMario Douglas will start in an improving offense, especially if you believe in Drake Maye. Douglas should be the slot receiver and is excellent at gaining separation.
Round 14, Pick 9: Dylan Sampson, RB, CLE
Quinshon Judkins has yet to sign a contract and won’t be a factor early in the season. While Jerome Ford may start, Sampson has the chance to seize the backfield. He was great in his junior season at Tennessee and I will take a chance on him every time at this price.
Round 15, Pick 4: Tyler Loop, K, BAL
Wait until the last two rounds.
Round 16, Pick 9: Arizona Cardinals DST
Wait until the last two rounds.
