Late-Season Buy, Sell, Hold: Why Quinshon Judkins Is A Must-Get Target In All Formats
If your name is Clint, you're about to get roasted in here. Everyone else, come enjoy the late-season buy/sell/holds!
TIME IS ALMOST UP!
Many fantasy leagues are approaching their trade deadlines, which means the sand is draining from our hourglasses.
This isn't just about your week to week wins. This isn't about tomorrow. This is about the entirety of your fantasy football future that lies ahead.
No pressure...
BUY: KEEPERS
It's time to capitalize on your league-specific rules (especially if you're losing). But even winners can plan for next year. If you're in a keeper league, it's time to look back at the ADP steals from August and try to get potential keepers onto your roster. Do some digging into your 2025 draft board and plan ahead.
Remember: If you have a losing record, you'll have an early draft pick next season. Having a "late round keeper" with an early-round ADP in 2026 will pair nicely with your 1.01 draft pick. (That’s called a silver lining, folks!)
RB Quinshon Judkins
Not only does Quinshon Judkins have a reallyyyy nice schedule coming up for the remainder of the season, but he's the perfect candidate for a late round keeper.
Remember when Judkins was falling down draft boards in August due to his "looming suspension" due to reported legal allegations? Depending on when you drafted, he might have fallen astronomically low compared to his early offseason ADP. And when you take into account his upside of 80-90 yards and a TD (or more) in any given game along with his RB-friendly stretch heading into the playoffs…
Judkins is a great buy for redraft and keeper leagues.
Don't take my word for it? Here’s what our resident Utilization Goat, Dwain McFarland, has to say: "Judkins is a mid-range RB2, but offers borderline RB1 upside given his upcoming matchups."
QB Jaxson Dart
Dart was either drafted really late or added from waivers in September in most leagues. While he's currently out (concussion), when healthy, he's proven to be an excellent fantasy asset. Konami code, anyone?
- Week 6: QB3
- Week 7: QB3
- Week 8: QB13
- Week 9: QB7
- Week 10: QB3
Dart has scored at least one rushing TD in every game across the last five weeks, which is more that we can say for Saquon Barkley… or Bijan Robinson… Or…
You get the idea.
Dart is an ideal late-round keeper (and elite starter) once he returns. But given his current injury (Jameis Winston starts in Week 11), you just might be able to pry him from his manager before he returns.
Other Buys and Potential Keepers
- QB Drake Maye
- TE Tyler Warren
SELL: QUESTION MARKS
We're not in the business of wishful thinking. The time for chasing highly-questionable "high-upside" players has all but passed. If you have a losing record, you can't wait on what-ifs.
And if you're winning, you need to keep that momentum going into the playoffs. No one wants to make it to the playoffs only to be eliminated in the first round (Right, Clint?*).
QB Joe Burrow
Joey B has returned to practice and is allegedly targeting a return to action in Week 13.
❓Could Burrow's return come later than expected? Yes.
❓Could CIN's playoff chances impact Burrows return timeline? Yes.
❓Is Joe Flacco averaging more fantasy points per game than Burrow ever has…EVER? Also yes.
Don't hate me. I'm just asking questions!!
WR Garrett Wilson
"No surgery needed." Great! "Wilson is only expected to miss 3-4 weeks." Phew!!
❓How many Top-10 WR outings did we see from Wilson Weeks 1-3? Three.
❓Do the Jets have nice matchups for the playoffs? Yep! (JAX, NO, NE)
❓Will Wilson be back in time for the playoffs? Allegedly…
But what's a "good playoff schedule" worth if you don't have a WR to get you there? And we've seen timelines change before… (Hey, Bucky.)
I can't wait for what-ifs.
QB Bo Nix
The rollercoaster of outcomes is becoming more than mildly frustrating.
❓Could Nix score 25 or more points any given week? Yes.
❓Could Nix give you bottom-level QB production any given week? YOU BETCHA.
Bo Nix's two (only two!!) games with 25 fantasy points or more were super fun! But he's also had two games with fewer than nine fantasy points. And those down weeks f*cking hurt.
Not to mention Nix’s five QB15 or worse fantasy finishes through 10 games. In other words: Half the time, Nix is giving mid-level (or worse) fantasy performances all the time. Which is a stat only Brian Fantana could love.
With DEN’s Week 12 Bye on the horizon, I'm ready to shore up consistency at the QB position.
WR Chris Godwin
(More on Godwin and Tampa Bay's WR room below)
While Godwin might return "down the stretch," there's no clear timeline available right now.
Good news in Tampa: Bucky Irving was seen at practice Wednesday. Bad news: Godwin was not.
The Bucs have not been completely transparent with their injury timelines this far, as Bucky managers know all too well. So if you’re unable to sit tight with Godwin on your bench until at least “late November-December”, it may be worth negotiating for a healthy player.
HOLD: POTENTIAL
We can't always jump ship in search of greener pastures. Sometimes, we need to look at the data in front of us and hope for the best.
Potential matters. And it's worth seeing where the ride might take you.
WR Rashid Shaheed
Two words: Sam Darnold.
Three words: I'm f*cking biased.
WR Tez Johnson
Once thought to be an overly crowded WR room, the Buccaneers are nursing some major injuries at the position. Mike Evans (collarbone) and Chris Godwin (fibula) have only played a handful of games this season and neither have a clear timeline for return.
And in their absence, Tez Johnson has stepped up. Sure, he’s not the star of the show (Hi, Emeka Egbuka), but since Week 6, Tez has started to carve out a consistent role with Baker Mayfield, who has thrown multiple TDs in all but three games this season.
Tez Johnson Weeks 6-10:
- 15% target share
- 36% End Zone targets
- 14-188-4
With some pretty decent matchups on the horizon (BUF, LAR, ARI, NO), it's not a bad time to see things through with Tez.
Other Holds for Potential:
- RB Tyler Allgeier
*Dear Editors, thank you for allowing me this safe space to talk trash to my leaguemate, Clint. He continues to dominate the leaderboards every year in the regular season of my home league. But alas, he loses in the playoffs. It's very important that he be reminded of his failure. You're serving a greater good by leaving this jab in. So to my wonderfully smart, handsome, and talented editors: Thank you. And to Clint: Suck it.
