One Thing We Learned From Every Week 15 Game: Trevor Lawrence Explosion Lights Up Sunday Slate

Adam Ronis provides a recap for every game of the Week 15 Sunday slate, including an explosive 6-TD game for Trevor Lawrence.

Veteran running backs tend to get pushed down draft boards. Travis Etienne is an example from this season as many believed he wouldn’t be the full-time back. Even when Tank Bigsby was traded before the season, the cries for Bhayshul Tuten were persistent. They even happened several times during the season.

Etienne has rewarded those who believed he was the main back who could flash some of the skills that made him a Top-5 fantasy back two years ago. Etienne delivered in the first round of the fantasy football playoffs with 3 TDs in the Jaguars’ 48-20 win over the Jets. Etienne had 12 carries for 32 yards and led the team in receiving with 73 yards on 3 catches, all going for scores. Etienne has 12 TDs in 14 games and is an RB1 in points per game in PPR formats.

Trevor Lawrence is finishing the season strong with four straight games of multiple TD passes. He had one of the best days of his career with 330 passing yards, 5 TDs and rushed for 51 yards on five carries with a TD.

Bills 35, Patriots 31

There’s a reason why fantasy players are screaming for TreVeyon Henderson to get more touches. He is explosive and can score on any play like he did here. Henderson rushed for 148 yards on 14 carries with 2 TDs and caught 2 passes for 13 yards. He’s a RB2 with matchups against the Ravens and Jets ahead.

Rams 41, Lions 34

Davante Adams pulled up on a route late in the game and aggravated a hamstring injury. The Rams play Seattle on Thursday, so he’s likely out. Colby Parkinson has become more involved in the offense in recent weeks and was third on the team with 7 targets. He caught five passes for 75 yards with 2 TDs and should be added. BTW, Puka Nacua (9-181-0) as pretty good, as was Amon-Ra St. Brown (13-164-2) for the Lions.

Texans 40, Cardinals 20

Jacoby Brissett attempted 40 passes once again and delivered against a defense that has smothered every QB. Brissett passed for 249 yards and 3 TDs. Start him with confidence against the Falcons and Bengals the final two weeks. Michael Wilson came through as well, catching 5 of 11 targets for 54 yards with a TD and is a must-start with Marvin Harrison Jr. out.

Broncos 34, Packers 26

With Pat Bryant out due to a hamstring injury, Troy Franklin returned to fantasy relevance. He tied for second on the team with 6 targets, catching all of them for 85 yards with a TD. Courtland Sutton led the way with 7 catches for 113 yards with a TD.

Chargers 16, Chiefs 13

The Chargers said they would play the hot hand at running back. Kimani Vidal played 63% of the snaps and Omarion Hampton played 37%. Hampton had 15 carries for 61 yards and caught a four-yard pass while Vidal had 12 carries for 33 yards and a 15-yard catch. Vidal ran more routes and was used more in passing situations. The Chargers will likely be run-heavy with the shaky offensive line and Justin Hebert’s left hand injury.

Bears 31, Browns 3

While D’Andre Swift has lost some touches to Kyle Monangai, Swift is the lead back. Swift had 18 carries for 98 yards with 2 TDs and caught a pass for -2 yards. Monangai had 11 carries for 33 yards and no receptions on 2 targets. After scoring in four straight games, Monangai hasn’t scored in the last two.

Ravens 24, Bengals 0

There wasn’t much the Ravens offense could do. They ran 40 plays, including three kneeldowns. When Lamar Jackson completes only 8 passes, fantasy production is going to be minimal. Mark Andrews and Isaiah Likely were popular plays against a Bengals team that has allowed the most fantasy points to TEs by far. Andrews had 2 catches for 18 yards on 3 targets and Likely wasn’t targeted. Unfortunately, this happens and both were solid plays and it didn’t work out.

Commanders 29, Giants 21

Chris Rodriguez Jr. didn’t play due to a groin injury and Jacory Croskey-Merritt filled in well with 18 carries for 96 yards with a TD as the main back. Jeremy McNichols rushed for 6 yards on 9 carries and caught a 16-yard pass. The Commanders face a tough matchup against the Eagles next week and it could be a split if Rodriguez can play next week.

Seahawks 18, Colts 16

Philip Rivers averaged 4.4 yards per pass attempt and looked like a guy who hasn’t played in five years. Running back Ameer Abdullah led the team in receiving with 32 yards on 5 catches. Jonathan Taylor had 28 touches for 101 yards. Taylor is the lone player to start with confidence.

49ers 37, Titans 24

Ricky Pearsall had his best game since returning from injury. He was second on the team with 7 targets and caught 6 passes for 96 yards. He got injured after his first catch and again late in the game so monitor his status.

Eagles 31, Raiders 0

This was an obvious bounce ack spot for the Eagles offense. Jalen Hurts passed for 3 TDs and Dallas Goedert had 6 catches for 70 yards with 2 TDs and led the team with 7 targets. He dropped a pass that could have been his third TD. Goedert has a career-high 9 TDs.

Saints 20, Panthers 17

Devin Neal looked like one of the best waiver wire adds for the stretch run since he was getting most of the touches in the backfield. However, Neal left the game with a hamstring injury. He had 7 carries for 28 yards with a TD and a four-yard catch.

RONIS BONUS

Those with Rome Odunze caught a bad break when he was ruled out five minutes before the game began after his foot injury was aggravated. He was a risky play, but if you didn’t get the notification in time and had him in the lineup, it was tough. This is where you need luck or get fortunate when the opponent starts him.

Harold Fannin Jr. will remain a top tight end with his target share. Even with the Browns offense inept and down four offensive linemen, he was targeted 14 times, catching 7 passes for 88 yards.

Not only did the Chiefs get eliminated from playoff contention, Patrick Mahomes tore his ACL. Gardner Minshew will take over as quarterback and the offensive line has been hit hard by injuries and struggled with Mahomes. Rashee Rice and Travis Kelce are the only players to consider starting.

After no designed runs in Week 13, Jaxson Dart rushed 9 times for 63 yards and passed for 246 yards with 2 TDs and 1 INT. He was evaluated for a concussion again and returned to the game. Dart will be a QB1 if he continues to run.

Jakobi Meyers has been a great addition for the Jaguars and had 5 catches for 71 yards on 7 targets. Brian Thomas Jr. has been useful, too, and getting more targets downfield. He had 4 catches for 66 yards with a TD and is relevant again.

Bam Knight was carted off with an ankle injury and Michael Carter was the main back playing 79% of the snaps. Carter had 14 carries for 56 yards and caught 4 passes for 38 yards. Emari Demercado returned and only had 3 touches.

Woody Marks left the game early with an ankle injury. Jawhar Jordan rushed for 101 yards on 15 carries and caught 2 passes for 17 yards with Nick Chubb out.

Once again, injury strikes Christian Watson. He left with a chest injury. If he misses time, Jayden Reed becomes more valuable. Reed caught 5 passes for 55 yards on 6 targets.

Jahymr Gibbs picked a bad time to have a down game. He had 13 carries for 38 yards and caught 4 passes for 20 yards. Hopefully, he didn’t end your season.
