Week 11 Fantasy Football Injury Report: Is Davante Adams Trending to Play?
Adam Ronis and Jorge Martin break down the Week 11 Injury Report, analyzing how key injuries impact fantasy football.
It’s a mixed bag in Week 11 on the injury front, when we got some signs of hope at the outset of the week as the Bengals opened up the 21-day practice window for Joe Burrow. The NFL is just better with Burrow taking snaps and firing passes to Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins. It really would be a Thanksgiving treat to see Burrow locking horns with Lamar Jackson in Week 13 as we’re deciding between more stuffing or dessert as the accompaniment to the big game.
But there are many miles before that game happens. Sadly, there will be some injuries that happen before then. For this week, we’ve already been dealt some OUT designations for
Marvin Harrison Jr. (appendicitis), Jayden Daniels (elbow) and Terry McLaurin (quad). Though Scary Terry did get to make the trip to Madrid. Other players sitting are noted below.
We did get some more good news, as word came out from San Francisco that Brock Purdy and Ricky Pearsall are both returning to the field. That will be huge for the 49ers, as they have an NFC West matchup against the Cardinals, who are dealing with the loss of MHJ. The 49ers being the healthier team, that's something we haven't seen in a while.
As far as other players we’re waiting to learn about, read on. (NOTE: This article will be updated as more information about players' statuses become available.
Week 11 Fantasy Football Injury Report
Quarterback
C.J. Stroud (Houston Texans)
C.J. Stroud has already been ruled out for the week due to a concussion. It’s the second straight game Stroud will miss with the concussion. The Texans play on Thursday in Week 12 against the Bills. Davis Mills will start and with a matchup against the Titans, there’s no need to downgrade the offense.
Jaxson Dart (New York Giants)
Dart has already missed the first two days of practice, and while that may be an automatic downer that it’s been confirmed that he will not start, there is a ray of sunshine. Jameis Winston was elevated to QB2 and has been designated to start in Dart’s place. It’s going to be a tough assignment for Winston, as the Packers are eighth in the league allowing just 15.4 fantasy points to QBs.
Joe Flacco (Cincinnati Bengals)
It looked like a tough start to the week for Flacco, as he kicked off the first practice after the bye week with a DNP. Then he followed it up with a limited session, so he’s looking good to get the start in Week 11. The Steelers have allowed 300-yard passers in four of the past six games, so look for a shootout in a game with a 49-point over/under.
Running Back
Rico Dowdle (Carolina Panthers)
Rico Dowdle was limited in practice on Thursday with a quad injury. The same thing happened last week and Dowdle played. Expect Dowdle to play against the Falcons and start him.
J.K. Dobbins (Denver Broncos)
J.K. Dobbins has a foot injury and there’s been talk he could be placed on injured reserve. Dobbins hasn’t practiced and is almost certain to be out this week against the Chiefs. Sean Payton said RJ Harvey “will have more opportunities” and he becomes a good play, but Tyler Badie and Jaleel McLaughlin could be involved, too.
Bucky Irving (Tampa Bay Buccaneers)
Irving has been out since Week 4 with multiple injuries. The shoulder injury has kept him out the last few weeks. Irving has put in limited practices to start the week, providing some hope he could return. If he misses another game, expect Sean Tucker to be more involved with Rachaad White used more in the passing game.
Isiah Pacheco (Kansas City Chiefs)
Pacheco didn’t practice on Thursday with a knee injury that sidelined him in Week 9 and the Chiefs were on bye last week. It’s unlikely Pacheco plays against the Broncos. Kareem Hunt will get the majority of the touches in the backfield.
Wide Receiver
Davante Adams (Los Angeles Rams)
Watching Adams grab his side then coming out of the game put a damper on the big win over the 49ers in Week 10. The receiving TD leader missed practice to start the week, then hit a limited practice on Thursday, so it’s looking like any concerns that Adams could sit for the huge game against the Seahawks are for naught. The Seahawks are seventh in the league in fewest receiving yards allowed to WRs, so this will be a good battle within the game.
Chris Godwin (Tampa Bay Buccaneers)
Godwin has put in limited practices to start the week after missing time with a fibula injury. Godwin has played two games this season following two offseason surgeries. The Buccaneers might be cautious and wait another week.
Matthew Golden (Green Bay Packers)
Golden missed last week with a shoulder and has been limited in the first two practices of the week. Coach Matt LaFleur said Golden was very close to playing last week. Golden hasn’t done anything to consider him in lineups, though the matchup with the Giants is tasty.
Drake London (Atlanta Falcons)
London didn’t practice on Wednesday due to an illness and was limited on Thursday. London is expected to play and is a WR1.
Rome Odunze (Chicago Bears)
Odunze was limited in practice on Thursday with an ankle injury. Last week, Odunze was limited with heel and ankle injuries and played. There’s no indication he will miss the game against the Vikings.
Darius Slayton (New York Giants)
Slayton has missed the first two practices of the week with a hamstring injury and was seen working out on the side with trainers. Slayton left last week’s game with the injury and returned. Slayton would benefit from Jameis Winston at quarterback if he can play.
Parker Washington (Jacksonville Jaguars)
Missing practice with a hamstring injury is always a concern, and that was the case for Washington on Wednesday. Washington was back at practice on Thursday, which is a good sign.
Garrett Wilson (New York Jets)
Wilson returned last week after missing two games with a knee injury and aggravated the injury. Wilson was placed on injured reserve and can return in Week 15 at the earliest. With the Jets out of contention, there’s a chance Wilson doesn’t play again this season.
Tight End
Dalton Kincaid (Buffalo Bills)
Kincaid missed another practice on Thursday with a hamstring injury. The Bills said he’s “week-to-week.” Kincaid is likely going to miss this week. Dawson Knox and Jackson Hawes will fill the void.
Sam LaPorta (Detroit Lions)
LaPorta didn’t practice on Thursday for the second straight day. The Friday practice will be key for LaPorta’s status.
