Week 11 Fantasy Football Mailbag: Rest-of-Season Outlook for Jaxson Dart and More
Sam Wallace answers questions from the Fantasy Life community entering Week 11 of the NFL season, including what we should expect from Jaxson Dart for the rest of the season.
With ten weeks of the fantasy football season in the review mirror, I polled our Fantasy Life Community Discord for their most pressing questions. Here are some of the highlights, as well as how they might impact you and your rosters in the coming weeks and months.
What is the rest-of-season outlook for Jaxson Dart?
The New York Giants have moved on from head coach Brian Daboll after blowing a double-digit fourth-quarter lead against the Bears. Now sitting at 2-8, it'll be interesting to see how the team reacts over the final months of the season.
As for Jaxson Dart, I think his rest-of-season outlook remains the same. Since taking over the QB1 role in Week 4 (seven total games), he's never scored less than 21 fantasy points. His rushing ability is what has boosted his value, as demonstrated by his seven rushing TDs.
To his credit, Dart has thrown the ball well, too. He's tallied 10 passing TDs to just 3 INTs.
However, recent reports this week indicate that Dart has been evaluated for a concussion four times this season, and he's currently being treated for one this week.
The loss of both Malik Nabers and Cam Skattebo means that Dart is clearly the best offensive option for the Giants, but he needs to do a better job of taking care of his body. Dart remains a strong hold/buy candidate across all formats as he's clearly demonstrated an ability to be a starting QB in the NFL and play at a high level.
Is Woody Marks a reliable flex option going forward?
Over his last four games, Woody Marks has averaged:
- 11.3 rushing attempts
- 3.8 targets
Depending on how you round, he's seeing essentially 15 opportunities per game. That's not bad for a Round 4 draft pick.
Marks came in at RB12 in our Rookie RB Model and has taken advantage of injuries to both Joe Mixon and Nick Chubb this season. I admire the work he's done thus far, and his volume is enough to warrant a weekly spot in your flex.
He's posted some duds this season:
- Week 7 (10 rushing attempts, 15 yards)
- Week 9 (10 rushing attempts, 27 yards)
But his involvement in the passing game and sheer volume keep him worthy of flex consideration. To cap it off, he's already had his bye week, which does matter to me during the middle portion of the season. He could feasibly slide into your RB2 role if you need to promote him during a bye week.
The Texans should be getting C.J. Stroud (concussion) back soon, which will only elevate this offense and afford more scoring opportunities.
Enjoy the cheap production that Marks provides for as long as you can.
Has Parker Washington earned a larger target share once Brian Thomas Jr. returns?
Never late, just early.
That's how I feel about Parker Washington, someone I've been weirdly bullish on for a few seasons now. Even so, he's already (nearly) matched career-best marks in targets, receptions, yards, and TDs.
Maybe this is the year.
Brian Thomas (ankle) and Travis Hunter (knee) have both been wildly disappointing relative to offseason expectations, which has opened the door for Washington to step into a larger role.
Washington is now one of the waiver wire additions of the week after posting 17.0 and 17.9 PPR over his last two weeks. In fact, over his last three games, he's averaging 8.6 targets per game.
It remains to be seen how long BTJ will be impacted by his ankle injury, and Hunter is going to miss the rest of the season. In the short term, Washington is absolutely a must-add and must-start. Even when BTJ returns, Washington should have done enough to warrant additional snaps and targets, which should keep him fantasy-relevant for the remainder of the season.
Who are some buy-low rookies for dynasty managers who are looking toward the future?
As a true dynasty degenerate, I always enjoy these types of questions, as I am perpetually looking ahead and trying to find the next breakout player.
I think there are ample options for dynasty managers to consider if they are looking to the future and want to snag some assets at a discount. A few months ago, I wrote about a handful of players who I believe were "a year away from being a year away."
Essentially, trade targets for 2027. You can find them here.
Let's lower the horizon just a bit and highlight a few players who can offer some value sooner than 2027.
First, Pat Bryant has been a rising target of mine ever since Sean Payton made Michael Thomas comparison comments in the offseason. Bryant stands at 6'2"/204 lbs and is a viable downfield threat for Bo Nix. Over his first five games, he totalled just two receptions on four targets, but he is averaging three targets per game over his latest five games.
It's a small step, but a step in the right direction nonetheless.
Next, Jayden Higgins. The Texans rookie has been involved from the start and has three TDs on the season, two of them coming in his last two games. Nico Collins is still the top option in Houston, but a C.J. Stroud-led offense is something I want my young wideouts to be a part of. You can also include his teammate Jaylin Noel in this category.
