Looking for a QB with some big injuries on your roster? Just trying to decide what to do with Dak? John Laghezza is here to help!
Daniel Jones had another breakout performance in Week 2 — but is he the best option to add for a successful Week 3? Not exactly…
Welcome back to our Fantasy Life Quarterback Files! I’m kicking off every fantasy week breaking down what we just saw in the free agent QB streets. With that, we look downfield for Week 3’s top streaming options, plus whether or not to believe our lyin’ eyes.
Let's start with where we were and then hit on where we are going...

QB Streaming Survey Says…
It's worth a weekly check-in on our free agent QB pool, and how it measures up to expected points added (EPA)—which usually correlates positively to fantasy success.
It’s still a little early to overreact in any direction, but keeping your eye on the top-right of this chart below will steer you on the correct path more often than not.

QB STREAMS OF THE WEEK!
1. Dak Prescott, DAL at CHI in Week 3: Rostered everywhere, but do we start him?
Dak Prescott being good at football should come as no surprise after multiple QB1 seasons on the fantasy ledger. Dallas’s gunslinger serves as a perfect example of how injuries can wholly derail a season, without taking an entire career's worth of talent with it. Formula’s simple enough, Dak plus CeeDee and Pickens equals fantasy goodness.
Thanks to some help from a leaky Cowboys’ defense, Prescott’s kept his foot pressed to the pedal through two games, ranking top-5 in dropbacks (91), passing yards (549), off-target rate (4.7%), and deep attempts (12). George Pickens finally found paydirt to go with CeeDee Lamb’s (9-112), so my guess? This is the beginning of a beautiful friendship.
Dallas boasts sufficient weaponry to once more exploit a winless Bears team on the ropes, with a defense circling the statistical drain. Chicago finished top-3 in yards allowed per play in 2024, yet has uncharacteristically face-planted on the defensive side—setting up to surrender another thirty-burger in the Windy City if things keep up at this pace
Bears’ Defense, 2025:
- 7.1 Yards Allowed Per Game: Last
- 50.5% Success Rate: 30th
- -0.15 EPA/Play: 30th
- 15.0% Explosive Play Rate Allowed: 29th
- -0.30 EPA/Dropback: 29th
- 136.9 Opposing Passer Rating: Last
- 13.3 Yards Allowed Per Reception: 29th
- 6.5 Yards After Contact Per Reception: 30th
2. Daniel Jones, IND at TEN in Week 3: Can he keep it going?
One of, if not the biggest surprise thus far must be the ongoing Daniel Jones breakout under Shane Steichen in Indianapolis. Just two games in this 2025 season, the same guy getting run out of New York by parking lot hecklers at MetLife enters Week 3 as fantasy’s QB7. Life comes at you fast sometimes.
Name your favorite streaming flavor, and Jones is doing it in spades. From ample volume (35.5 dropbacks/game, 588 yards), to top-flight efficiency (71.4% completion, +0.35 EPA/dropback, 9.3 yards/attempt) and even efficacy in the ground game (6.5 carries/game, 3 rushing TD)—DJ’s the latest first-round pick to prove patience is indeed an organizational virtue.
Go figure, Danny Dimes stands a pretty good chance of keeping it rolling in Music City on Sunday, too. The Titans’ defense spends entirely too much time on the field cleaning up after the offense, allowing over 5.8 yards per play. Now mix Tennessee’s utter inability to pressure opposing quarterbacks (33% pressure, 2 total sacks) with Jones’ rushing floor, and he could be the streaming QB that sticks.
3. Aaron Rodgers, PIT at NE in Week 3: "Desperation’s a stinky cologne"
No, I haven’t come around on Aaron Rodgers or the molasses-paced Steelers’ offense—when it comes to quarterback streaming, desperation’s a stinky cologne. Unlike Dak Prescott or Daniel Jones, who might earn a semi-permanent spot on our fantasy squad, Old Man Rodgers is the epitome of a matchup-based one-and-done.
Pittsburgh’s aging shot-caller already showed off the Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde act (QB7, QB25)—precisely what to expect from the black and yellow in 2025. Luckily for the Steelers, it’s New England’s hapless secondary up next on the schedule.
The Pats’ defense has gotten summarily shredded so far, ranking 28th or worse across the spreadsheet—including yards allowed per play (6.6), EPA/dropback (-0.23), opposer passer rating (110.5), completion rate (75.8%), passing yards per game (315.0), deep shots (13), and yards after contact per reception (5.7). So, everything that matters.
If Pittsburgh flops here, they go on the pay-no-mind list.
The Jake Browning Trap
UPDATE: As reported by Adam Schefter on Monday afternoon, Bengals QB Joe Burrow needs surgery to repair a toe that will cost him at least three months. Oof.
Jake Browning’s immediately vaulted into the priority free agent conversation given the quality of surrounding cast alone. These Bengals are a race car in need of a driver. That said, streaming could be tough, particularly in the short term.
Cincinnati’s about to face some of the toughest defenses in a row (@MIN, @DEN, DET, @GB), so you have to temper expectations. Wouldn’t surprise me if Browning winds up widely available in a few more weeks.
