Week 6 Fantasy Football Injury Report: Kyler Murray, Lamar Jackson and More Updates

Adam Ronis and Jorge Martin provide updates for the Week 6 Fantasy Football Injury Report, led by Kyler Murray, Lamar Jackson and many more updates.

What are we to believe? Xavier Worthy practiced in full alongside the entire Chiefs roster. Rare any week in an NFL season. Then Worthy sat out practice a day later. What is to be believed? The second-year speedster has drawn 17 targets, 11 catches and 172 all-purpose yards in his two games back from a shoulder injury in the season opener. The Chiefs offense certainly looks better with Worthy on the field. As of now there is no indication that the Chiefs could sit this very important receiver just as he’s lighting a fire under the offense.

We’ll have to monitor this situation, as well as others facing fantasy managers in Week 6.

Week 6 Fantasy Football Injury Report

Quarterback

Lamar Jackson (Baltimore Ravens)

After missing last week due to a hamstring injury, Lamar Jackson has yet to practice this week. The Ravens have a bye next week and there’s a good chance Jackson is out to give him an extra two weeks to return. Cooper Rush started last week and the Ravens offense was bad. It’s another tough matchup against the Rams, who have a formidable front four.

Kyler Murray (Arizona Cardinals)

Murray didn’t practice for the second straight day on Thursday due to a foot injury. Murray injured the foot last week against the Titans, left briefly and returned to finish the game. The Friday practice will be key for determining whether Murray can play against the Colts. If Murray is out, Jacoby Brissett will start.

Brock Purdy (San Francisco 49ers)

Purdy missed last week due to a toe injury and has yet to practice this week. It appears Purdy will miss another week, putting Mac Jones in line to make another start. Jones practiced on a limited basis after he was injured at the end of the Week 5 victory over the Rams.

Running Back

Chuba Hubbard (Carolina Panthers)

After missing every practice last week and missing the game, Hubbard has started the week missing the first two practices due to a calf injury. With Hubbard out last week, Rico Dowdle exploded for 206 yards on 23 carries with a TD and three catches for 28 yards. It’s unlikely Hubbard returns this week and Dowdle gets a great matchup in a revenge game against the Cowboys. The Fantasy Life consensus rankings are high on Dowdle.

Bucky Irving (Tampa Bay Buccaneers)

After missing the first two practices of the week, Bucky Irving is trending toward missing his second straight game. Rachaad White would have a similar load that brought him an RB7 finish in Week 5.

Jaylen Warren (Pittsburgh Steelers)
He was a late scratch in the game in Ireland, so we have kept an eye on Jaylen Warren. He’s practiced the first two days of the week. It’s looking like he’ll take back his lead RB role that saw him get a UR score of 87 in Week 3

Wide Receiver

CeeDee Lamb (Dallas Cowboys)

Lamb didn’t practice on Thursday and the indication is he will miss another game. It will be the third consecutive game Lamb would be out with a high-ankle sprain. Since the Cowboys didn’t place Lamb on injured reserve, the expectation is he will return in Week 7. Reporters say Lamb is progressing well.

Terry McLaurin (Washington Commanders)

McLaurin didn’t practice again on Thursday. He was seen working on the side with trainers. The Commanders don’t play until Monday, so there’s still time for McLaurin to play. McLaurin hasn’t played since Sept. 21 due to a quad injury.

Mike Evans (Tampa Bay Buccaneers)

The veteran has not practiced the first two days after not practicing at all and missing the last two games. This one is looking like another missed game with a hamstring injury.

Chris Godwin (Tampa Bay Buccaneers)

Godwin sat out the first two practice sessions of the week, a surprise after he’d played the last two weeks. A lower-leg injury is a concern, as Godwin suffered a season-ending ankle injury. This is going to be watched closely through Friday’s practice report. If he can’t play, Emeka Egbuka becomes an even greater play after he’s gone over 100 yards and scored a TD in each of the past two games.

Darnell Mooney (Atlanta Falcons)

Mooney didn’t practice on Thursday with a hamstring injury. With the Falcons playing Monday against the Bills, this is the first practice of the week. Mooney suffered the injury when the team last played on Sept. 28. The early expectation was he would play, but the next two practices will be telling.

Ricky Pearsall (San Francisco 49ers)

Pearsall missed last week with a knee injury and hasn’t practiced the first two days of the week. Coach Kyle Shanahan indicated he didn’t expect Pearsall to play this week. More on the next player.

Jauan Jennings (San Francisco 49ers)

Jennings returned to practice on a limited fashion on Thursday. That’s a sign that he may go, which would be good for Jones and the 49ers offense. Even after Kendrick Bourne had his massive day in Week 5, Jennings would be a welcomed addition to the San Francisco attack. The Buccaneers are 13th in most passing yards allowed per game thus far.

Deebo Samuel (Washington Commanders)

Samuel didn’t practice Thursday due to a heel injury. Samuel didn’t practice last week yet still played on Sunday and had 8 catches for 96 yards with a TD. Washington plays Monday night and he’s expected to play. With Terry McLaurin likely out again, Samuel is high in the consensus rankings.

Tight End

Brock Bowers (Las Vegas Raiders)

The consensus TE1 in this year’s ADP is looking like he’ll have to wait another week, as Brock Bowers sat for the second consecutive practice. With the Raiders facing a bye in Week 8, it might make sense to hold Bowers out until after the respite. Michael Mayer will likely start at TE, but he’s not Bowers.

Dalton Kincaid (Buffalo Bills)

Kincaid was limited in practice on Thursday due to an oblique injury. He was wearing a red non-contact jersey. The Bills play the Falcons on Monday night, so this isn’t a concern yet since it’s the first practice of the week.
