Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Deep Dive. Week 15

Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Deep Dive. Week 15

The Waiver Wire is crucial to fantasy football success, so we've created the Waiver Wire Hub to help you dominate your league.

I'll be using Yahoo's "percentage rostered" data. Players are listed in order of priority, by position. Most of the players listed are available in at least 75% percent of leagues.

D.J. Chark

  • Available in 60% of leagues

This is the offense you want to be a part of heading into your fantasy playoffs. The Lions are averaging 32 points per game over their last five games and had four different WRs top 40 receiving yards this week.

WR D.J. Chark topped 90 receiving yards for the second straight week and has two TDs over his last three games. His 18% target share in Week 14 highlights the depth of weapons on this offense, but his 28% receiving yards share signifies his downfield role on this offense.

Chark is a must-add in all formats.

FAAB: 40%

Zay Jones

  • Available in 49% of leagues

A bounceback game was a welcome sight for WR Zay Jones. All season, he’s been right there with fellow WR Christian Kirk in targets, but the TD disparity was hurting Jones.

Jones does have 10+ targets in three of his last four games, and he finally scored just his second TD of the season in Week 14. He has a massive target volume on an offense that is starting to come into its own makes Jones an easy addition in all formats.

FAAB: 35%

Donovan Peoples-Jones

  • Available in 42% of leagues

A good portion of the fantasy community has it figured out, but the other 42% of you, go pick up WR Donovan Peoples-Jones.

The return of QB Deshaun Watson helped Peoples-Jones top 100 receiving yards for the first time this season. He only has one receiving TD on the year but has nine games with at least 50 receiving yards. Peoples-Jones has the athletic profile and upside to win you your league title. Get him on your fantasy squad.

Additional Waiver Targets

Jameson Williams

  • Available in 64% of leagues

As mentioned, you want access to this Lions offense with the fantasy playoffs upon us. Thankfully, there are multiple options. Rookie WR Jameson Williams found the end zone for the first time this season early in the contest but was relatively quiet the rest of the way.

Williams offers immense upside and explosive potential but needs to see more opportunities. He has just three total targets in his first two games.

FAAB: 30%

Jahan Dotson

  • Available in 85% of leagues

The Commanders enjoyed their bye week but let’s not forget about their first-round rookie as the fantasy playoffs begin.

Rookie WR Jahan Dotson had his best game in Week 13 since returning from injury. His nine targets (22% target share) were a season-high and his most since Week 3. It’s encouraging to see him continue to develop rapport with QB Taylor Heinicke.

FAAB: 25%

Richie James

  • Available in 89% of leagues

Here’s a sentence I never thought I would say:

I think it’s time to start taking WR Richie James seriously.

James has run 82% of his routes from the slot this season (PFF) and has either 40 receiving yards or a TD in three of his last four games. On a Giants offense that is lacking offensive playmakers at the WR position, James is worth an extra look as you gear up for the fantasy playoffs.

FAAB: 15%

Gus Edwards

  • Available in 51% of leagues

Veteran RB Gus Edwards has averaged 12 rushing attempts per game in his five games this season. Despite not appearing in a game until Week 7, he remains a key cog in this Ravens offense.

The return of RB J.K. Dobbins pushed Edwards back down the depth chart. However, the lack of a clear-cut QB1 (while QB Lamar Jackson is sidelined) makes Edwards a high-end backup/flex option moving forward.

Chubba Hubbard

Chuba Hubbard

  • Available in 67% of leagues

The Panthers backfield has become surprisingly fantasy-relevant over the last few weeks. Over the last two games, RB D’Onta Foreman has totaled 45 rushing attempts, while fellow RB Chuba Hubbard has tallied 31 rushing attempts.

Hubbard offers a touch more value in the passing game. He has six targets over his last three games compared to just two for Foreman. Hubbard is an RB3/Flex option on volume alone with upside for more should he fall into the end zone if Foreman misses time.

FAAB: 10%

Jordan Mason

  • Available in 87% of leagues

Rookie RB Jordan Mason, the clear-cut RB2 to Christian McCaffrey, has seen both his rushing attempts and rushing yards rise steadily over each of the last four weeks. That culminated with a nice line of 11 / 56 this week.

Most of that work came with the game well in hand, but it was encouraging to see Mason handle 44% of the RB rushing attempts.

The likely loss of WR Deebo Samuel (ankle) for a few weeks could push a few extra opportunities Mason’s way, making him a worthy stash.

FAAB: 10%

Demarcus Robinson

  • Available in 85% of leagues

WR Demarcus Robinson quietly turned in another modest performance. Thrust into the WR1 role following the loss of teammate Rashod Bateman, Robinson has averaged 10 points per game over his last six games.

Following the departure of backup QB Tyler Huntley (concussion), third-string rookie QB Anthony Brown took over. It remains to be seen how long QB Lamar Jackson (knee) will remain sidelined, but Robinson is turning into a low-ceiling PPR option regardless of who is under center.

FAAB: 10%

Chigoziem Okonkwo

  • Available in 86% of leagues

The TE position remains a desolate wasteland, so any hint of production immediately becomes intriguing. Chigoziem Okonkwo, the rookie from Maryland, has three consecutive games with at least five targets and punctuated that streak with a 6 / 45 / 1 line this week.

Okonkwo has earned target shares of 14%, 19%, and 15% over his last three games. That trend is something the team clearly wants. Titans offensive coordinator Todd Downing said that Okonkwo has earned more opportunities, and they've looked at drawing up more ways to get him the football.

If that continues, fantasy managers can expect even more fantasy production.

FAAB: 7%

Ben Skowronek

  • Available in 97% of leagues

It’s hard to get excited about any offensive weapons on the Rams, but the arrival of QB Baker Mayfield might be just enough to make someone viable.

Sophomore WR Ben Skowronek posted a 23% target share, and 38% receiving yards share on Thursday night. While it might not be indicative of future success, it’ll be worth noting who Mayfield develops chemistry with down the stretch.

FAAB: 5%

Tyler Allgeier

  • Available in 62% of leagues

Rookie RB Tyler Allgeier is averaging almost 11 rushing attempts per game and remains available in over 60% of leagues. In Week 13, he accounted for 40% of the RB rushing attempts and continued to split work with fellow RB Cordarrelle Patterson.

It is worth noting that Allgeier out-snapped Patterson last week after Patterson led the way in Week 12. The Falcons are coming off their bye, so Allgeier is worth an end-of-bench stash.

QB Streamers for Week 15

Brock Purdy

  • Available in 91% of leagues

What a performance by QB Brock Purdy.

From “Mr. Irrelevant” to beating QB Tom Brady (who was drafted a year after Purdy was born), you couldn’t have drawn up a better afternoon for the 49ers' signal-caller.

His stat line won’t blow you away, but that’s the 49er system. Purdy was 16 for 21 for 185 yards and a pair of scores. He also rushed for a TD. The coaching, scheme, offensive playmakers, and defense all add up to make Purdy a worthwhile streaming option.

FAAB: 5%

Taylor Heinicke

  • Available in 89% of leagues

QB Taylor Heinicke has been a solid option in five of his seven games this season. He has either 200 passing yards or two TDs in six games, so the floor is there for decent production.

Up next, a Giants squad that he just faced prior to his bye week. In that matchup, he tied or set season-high marks in passing attempts (41), passing completions (27), passing TDs (2), and posted his second-highest passing yards mark (275).

Defense Streamer for Week 15

Washington Commanders

  • Available in 74% of leagues

The Commanders will be coming off their bye week, so the hope is they are fresh and ready to take on the New York Giants in a key NFC East battle. Washington entered Week 14 as the No. 9 ranked defense with a total of 34 sacks, 13 turnovers, and two TDs.

Despite their strong record, the Giants have scored more than 24 points just once this season (Week 5). Look for another close, low-scoring tilt between two teams with excellent defenses.
