Jets @ Raiders Week 10 Game Preview

Jets @ Raiders Week 10 Game Preview

Jonathan Fuller breaks down the Week 10 matchup between the New York Jets and Las Vegas Raiders from a fantasy football and betting perspective.

New York Jets @ Las Vegas Raiders

This will likely be the least exciting Sunday Night Football matchup of the year as two of the NFL’s lowest-scoring offenses square off in a game with a 36-point total.

The Raiders and Jets are coming off opposite performances in Week 9. The Jets fell to the Chargers 27-6 on Monday Night Football, while the Raiders hammered the Giants 30-6 on Sunday.

Las Vegas looked like a new team last week after firing Josh McDaniels, but we will have to see if that carries over to a much tougher test in Week 10. They will have to take on a Jets defense that ranks in the top 10 for both rush and dropback EPA per play this season

Jets Defense

The Raiders' dominant win last week came courtesy of their ground game, as they scored three rushing TDs. Josh Jacobs got two of those scores and finished as the RB3 on the week, his second consecutive top-12 finish.

The Jets have been more vulnerable to RBs than any other position when it comes to fantasy scoring, so Jacobs is still a high-level starter this week. He checks in as the RB6 in the Fantasy Life consensus ranks for Week 10

Davante Adams and Jakobi Meyers have continued to dominate targets, but it hasn’t translated to consistent fantasy production. Adams hasn’t finished as a top-20 fantasy WR in any game since Week 4. Meyers got there last week thanks to a rushing TD, but he has just 3 receptions for 57 yards in his last two games.

Adams is too talented, and his usage is still strong enough that he still lands as a top-10 WR in the Fantasy Life consensus ranks. Meyers is down in the WR30 range, which makes him startable if you need to, but ideally, I would like to look in a different direction due to the Jets' pass defense.

For the Jets, their fantasy-relevant players start and end with Breece Hall and Garrett Wilson. They are the engines of the offense and have helped the team do just enough to sit at a 4-4 record so far.

Raiders defense

This is a very winnable matchup for the Jets, and Hall, in particular, should be poised for a big game as the Raiders' defense has given up points in bunches to opposing RBs. Add in the fact that Las Vegas is unlikely to put up a lot of points, and the Jets should be able to stick with the running game, giving Hall a good chance to rip off a big play or two in this one.

The Jets are favored by one point on the road, and I do expect them to win this game. Neither team is getting strong QB play, and New York appears to be the more complete team, so I will place my trust in their defense.
