Raiders @ Seahawks Week 12 Game Preview

Raiders @ Seahawks Week 12 Game Preview

A bout between the Raiders and Seahawks sounds pedestrian on paper, but this game's 47.5-point total is the second-highest on the slate.

Raiders at Seahawks (-3.5) – 47.5 total

A bout between the Raiders and Seahawks sounds pedestrian on paper. Vegas just edged out the Broncos in overtime, and Seattle is coming off a tough loss to the Buccaneers. But this game’s 47.5-point total is the second-highest on the slate. Derek Carr might be a mid QB, but two of his pass catchers are in good spots.

Seattle’s defense may be 21st in completion percentage allowed, but they’ve tightened up over the last six weeks. They’re top ten in dropback EPA allowed. However, WR1s like Davante Adams still give them fits. Mike Evans is the only primary option for his team with a negative EPA per target against Seattle. Adams’ 40.2% target share over the last three weeks is first among all receivers, but don’t forget about Foster Moreau.

Moreau’s one-catch, 33-yard outing against Denver highlights the volatility of the position. But Seattle is the 30th-ranked defense versus TEs per the Fantasy Life Game Hub. Seattle should come out firing off their bye, making Moreau a unique way to access a high-scoring affair.

On the Seahawks’ side, start them all. Well, respectfully, let’s keep D’Wayne Eskridge on the wire. But the remaining cast couldn’t ask for a better setup coming off a bye.

The Raiders are an average or well-below-average matchup against every position. They’re 13th in explosive runs allowed (hello, Kenneth Walker), and half of the quarterbacks to face them have wound up in the top 12 over their last six games. If Davis Mills can do it, so can Geno Smith. And one of Smith’s receivers has potential slate-breaking upside.

See if you spot the commonality between these receivers: Robert WoodsParris CampbellChristian KirkMarquise Brown, and Keenan Allen. They hold five of the top-8 yardage totals against the Raiders this season. Vegas might not like the Tyler Lockett brand of slot machine Seattle brings to the table on Sunday.
