Ravens @ Jaguars Week 12 Game Preview

Ravens @ Jaguars Week 12 Game Preview

The Jaguars will have their work cut out coming off the bye week and facing the Ravens, who recently added more firepower to their defense.

Ravens (-3.5) at Jaguars – 43.5 total

The Jaguars’ bye couldn’t have come at a better time. Baltimore has added more firepower to their defense, so Trevor Lawrence has his work cut out for him. However, Lamar Jackson couldn’t manage a passing touchdown the last time he took the field. And yet, the Ravens are four-point favorites. Some fantasy managers may be down on Jackson, but this is the week to buy back in on the former MVP.

With aerial weapons like Demarcus Robinson (the sixth option on his former team), Jackson is 20th in passing success rate in pure passing situations. And coincidentally, Baltimore has faced teams over the last two weeks who allow near or above the league average in dropback success rates. But Jacksonville is 25th in the same metric. Mark Andrews’ 2.12 YPRR ranks among the top WRs in the league, and we know what Jackson can do in the open field. Both should be staples of season-long and DFS lineups.

Meanwhile, Christian Kirk is Jacksonville’s best weapon against Baltimore. The Ravens limited Alvin Kamara to 30 yards and the Panthers’ offense to 18.8 yards per drive, putting a damper on Travis Etienne’s day. But interior receivers got the volume for a viable floor. Chris Olave (9-71-0) earned half of his production from the slot along with DJ Moore. I’d limit my exposure to Jacksonville, as the Ravens haven’t allowed a passing touchdown in back-to-back games.
