Conference Championships Guilloteenie Draft Review: Drake Maye, Kenneth Walker Early, Best Player Available Late

Kendall Valenzuela offers her round-by-round analysis of her Guilloteenie draft before the Conference Championships.

If you missed the action last week with Guilloteenies, then don't you fret because we have more drafts heading into the Conference Championships going on right now! So make sure you get in on the action before it's too late!

My draft prep was pretty simple this round: get anyone I could before the players dried up! And let me tell you, in a Double Chop things got ugly very quickly.

As a reminder, lineups consist of 1 QB; 2 RB; 2 WR; 1 TE; and 2 FLEX!

There's only one chop if you're drafting this week for Guilloteenies, so my philosophy was to try and really make a stand on teams that I thought were going to make it to the Super Bowl. I have high hopes for a Patriots and Seahawks meeting in Santa Clara, so I made sure to draft as many players as I could from both teams. Obviously, you can't get everyone, but I think making a stand will help you survive the next waiver run (if you're right).

Conference Championships Guilloteenie Draft Review

Round 1: Go Early QB

Team 1: Puka Nacua

Team 2: Jaxon Smith-Njigba

Team 3: Rhamondre Stevenson

Team 4 (KV): Drake Maye

The top two players off the board were chalk, but I was surprised to see Rhamondre Stevenson go at the three spot. This left a big decision and while I almost went with the Kenneth Walker and Kyren Williams stack I decided to get my quarterback and running back. There's only two good quarterbacks available in this draft, though maybe Sam Darnold goes off, but getting one of Matthew Stafford or Maye seems important.

Round 2: Stay Home at RB

(KV): Kenneth Walker

Team 3: Matthew Stafford

Team 2: Kyren Williams

Team 1: Davante Adams

Zach Charbonnet has an ACL injury that will keep him out of the playoffs from here on out, which means Kenneth Walker is a riser heading into this weekend. Once Charbonnet went down in the second quarter Walker finished the game with 145 total yards on 6.6 yards per touch and had 3 touchdowns. Walker is ranked for us as a top-5 option going against the Rams. Sign me up!

Round 3: Time for a Breakout WR

Team 1: Stefon Diggs

Team 2: RJ Harvey

Team 3: Hunter Henry

(KV): Kayshon Boutte

It was breakout Sunday again for Boutte, putting him firmly on my list of "if he's there then draft him." He had 3 receptions for 71 yards and 1 incredible touchdown against Houston, and he led all Patriots pass catchers with a 64 Utilization Score. There's some upside here in the touchdown department that I didn't want to ignore, especially with Diggs off the board at this point.

Round 4: RB2 with Breakaway Potential

(KV): TreVeyon Henderson

Team 3: Courtland Sutton

Team 2: Sam Darnold

Team 1: Cooper Kupp

It's no secret that the Patriots are leaning heavily intoStevenson during the playoffs, but this was the best of some not great options in this round. We've seen Henderson rip off big plays before and it seems like that's what we're going to need to get big points out of him. Still there is a floor that makes him a worthwhile pickup in Round 4.

Round 5: A Run on Tight Ends

Team 1: Colby Parkinson

Team 2: Blake Corum

Team 3: AJ Barner

(KV): Tyler Higbee

This is the best of the worst tight ends, that's exactly what we should call this round! In our rankings, the top 3 tight ends are Henry, Parkinson and Barner, and that tells you everything you need to know!

Round 6: Beware This RB

(KV): Marvin Mims

Team 3: J.K. Dobbins

Team 2: Demario Douglas

Team 1: Jarrett Stidham

If you're considering taking J.K. Dobbins I would be very cautious. We got news that his practice window has opened, but that doesn't mean he's going to play against the Patriots. Denver's running backs had just 10 carries for 41 yards in Saturday's playoff win. So, this offense could definitely use the boost with Stidham starting at quarterback, but you do run the risk of Dobbins not even starting, which would push you to the waiver wire before the game even started.

Round 7: Big-Play Rashid

Team 1: Jaleel McLaughlin

Team 2: Pat Bryant

Team 3: Troy Franklin

(KV): Rashid Shaheed

Please, let's just get a kickoff return again and then I can sleep easy after drafting Rashid Shaheed!

Round 8: BPA for Final Flex

(KV): Jordan Whittington

Team 3: Tutu Atwell

Team 2: Evan Engram

Team 1: D'Ernest Johnson

Final Team: A Balance of Seahawks and Patriots

QB: Matthew Stafford

RB: Kenneth Walker

RB: TreVeyon Henderson

WR: Kayshon Boutte

WR: Marvin Mims

TE: Tyler Higbee

FLEX: Rashid Shaheed

FLEX: Jordan Whittington

Final Thoughts: Things get gross here quickly. Utilize the Fantasy Life rankings for the weekend and trust your gut on teams or players you think could really shine. You're not going to like every single pick, but it's about surviving and advancing. Good luck!
