The Most-Chopped Players In Guillotine Leagues™️ for Week 15: Jalen Hurts, Patrick Mahomes and More
Adam Ronis identified the most chopped players in Guillotine Leagues heading into Week 15, headlined by Jalen Hurts and Patrick Mahomes.
Imagine needing only 6 points from a quarterback to advance to Week 15 in Guillotine Leagues™. Unless it’s Justin Fields, the confidence is really high. Jalen Hurts failed to deliver after throwing 4 interceptions and losing a fumble to chop many teams in Week 14. Hurts rushed for only 8 yards and the last INT in overtime created some horror stories for teams getting chopped.
The Most-Chopped Players in Guillotine Leagues
To no surprise, Hurts was the most chopped player in Guillotine Leagues™. Hurts had only two interceptions entering the week and has a high floor due to his rushing ability. There’s no need to spend a lot on a quarterback with fewer teams left, but Hurts has a favorable schedule with the Raiders and Commanders the next two weeks. The early rankings from Ian Hartitz have Hurts very high.
Second on the list is Breece Hall. The Jets quarterback is up in the air for the week. Tyrod Taylor left early in Week 14 with a groin injury and Justin Fields was inactive with a knee injury. Brady Cook was the quarterback and the Jets offense was a disaster. Hall had 14 carries for 43 yards and 1 target. The floor is extremely low and the Jets face a tough defense in Jacksonville this week. There’s no need to bid on Hall.
The third-most chopped player is Davante Adams. He failed to score a TD for the first time since Oct. 12 and had 4 catches for 29 yards. Adams has been reliant on TDs that happen almost every week. Adams has scored in 9 of 13 games. Still, Adams is getting targets near the goal line almost every trip and the Rams have one of the best offenses in the NFL. Be aggressive on the bid.
- Rashee Rice was next on the list after a disappointing game against an elite Texans defense. He had four catches for 34 yards and had some bad drops. Rice has at least seven targets in every game and ran into a defense suffocating teams. With the huge target share, Rice is another player to bid on aggressively.
Patrick Mahomes is the fifth-most chopped player on the week. Mahomes wasn’t helped by drops and struggled against the Texans, passing for 160 yards with no TDs and 3 INTs. The offensive line had three starters out and lost Wanya Morris on the first play of the game. Mahomes has 1 TD pass or fewer in four of the last five games. Mahomes has the Chargers, Titans and Broncos the next three games. Most teams are fine at QB at this point and he isn’t worth an add.
Ashton Jeanty comes in at six and is being crippled by the offense. He has averaged 3.2 yards per carry or fewer in six straight games. He has 28 targets the last four games to help raise the floor, but had only two catches for 8 yards last week. With the Eagles and Texans the next two weeks, don’t bid on Jeanty.
Justin Jefferson is on the list again. J.J. McCarthy threw 3 TDs against Washington and Jefferson had 2 catches for 11 yards on 4 targets. Jefferson has a juicy matchup against the Cowboys this week. The Cowboys allow the most fantasy points per game to wide receivers. Would it be a surprise if Jefferson finally had a big game and scores his first TD since Nov. 2? No. Can you be confident? Absolutely not. Jefferson has 61 receiving yards or fewer in six straight games.
George Pickens has been consistent all season and makes a rare appearance on the list. He appeared to be jogging on many routes and his effort was questioned against the Lions. Pickens had 9 targets and caught 5 passes for 37 yards. He has been good all season and the Cowboys face the Vikings, Chargers and Commanders. Pickens has at least 9 targets in six straight games and has at least 78 receiving yards in seven of the last eight games. Pickens is a high priority bid.
Chris Olave and Travis Kelce round out the Top 10 most-chopped players. Both are worth small bids. Remember to look at the remaining budget and team needs of the remaining teams. This will help shape the bids.
