Week 17 Most-Chopped Players in Guillotine Leagues™️: Bid Everything on Trey McBride

Week 17 Most-Chopped Players in Guillotine Leagues™️: Bid Everything on Trey McBride

Adam Ronis runs down the 10 most-chopped players in Guillotine Leagues heading into Week 17, headlined by Trey McBride and Josh Allen.

The Bengals have been so awful at defending tight ends, fantasy players have looked ahead weeks in advance to have one for the matchup. Trey McBride is elite regardless of matchups and when people saw McBride against the Bengals in Week 17, the dreams of a massive fantasy game danced in their heads. What better Christmas gift than McBride against the Bengals?

For those remaining in Guillotine Leagues™, McBride was among the most chopped players this week. He has rarely been available this season because of his consistency. McBride has been the best fantasy tight end by far and is coming off his worst game with 6.7 PPR points. He had only one other game where double-digit points weren’t reached.

Top-10 Most Chopped Players in Guilotine Leagues™️ for Week 17

McBride hasn’t had fewer than 8 targets in a game with Jacoby Brissett at quarterback. He has at least 20 PPR points in six of 10 games with Brissett. McBride is worth going all in. He would start on any team, especially with George Kittle dealing with an ankle injury and his status is in question against the Bears. The one advantage of having the most money left is this scenario. McBride could be the final piece to the championship puzzle.

The most chopped player after Week 16 was Josh Allen. The Bills QB is coming off his worst game of the season with 130 passing yards and 17 rushing yards on seven carries without a TD. It’s the third time this season Allen hasn’t had a TD and tends to rebound the next game. Allen is dealing with a foot injury, though. The early rankings say to trust Allen this week against the Eagles.

Third on the most chopped list is Josh Jacobs. He has exuded extreme toughness and has been successful in playing through his knee injury until last week. Jacobs had 14 touches for 48 yards and lost a fumble in the third quarter. He didn’t play the rest of the way. The Packers play the Ravens on Saturday and he could be out. With so many options to choose from and less teams to compete with, Jacobs isn’t worth a bid.

Next on the list is Nico Collins, and he is worth an aggressive bid. Collins is a consensus Top-7 WR in the early rankings. Collins had 9 targets last week and caught 4 passes for 59 yards. He has at least 16.1 PPR points in three of the last four games, and he’s capable of a big game any time he takes the field.

The next two most chopped players are elite receivers and worth higher bids than Collins. Amon-Ra St. Brown is fifth and CeeDee Lamb is sixth. St. Brown is coming off a down game and had a TD nullified late in the game due to a penalty. The Lions are fighting for a playoff spot and St. Brown will be targeted heavily. Lamb gets a great matchup against an awful Washington defense. The first time Lamb faced the Commanders this season, he had 5 catches for 110 yards with a TD on 8 targets.

Michael Wilson made the most chopped and isn’t as appealing as the aforementioned receivers. Wilson hasn’t produced the same stats with Marvin Harrison Jr. on the field, and he returned last week and was limited. Wilson could have a big game against the Bengals with a total of 53.5 points and two bad defenses, but he has more risk than the other receivers available.

If you’re in need of a running back, Travis Etienne and Jonathan Taylor were among the most chopped. Etienne has 6 TDs over the last three games and has 56 touches. Etienne gets a Colts defense that couldn’t stop the 49ers on Monday night. The 49ers didn’t punt. Taylor doesn’t have the ceiling he did earlier in the season with Philip Rivers at QB, but he will get a lot of volume.

If you don’t have much money, A.J. Brown is a nice consolation prize as the 10th-most chopped player. He has at least 12.1 PPR points in five straight games and has 49 targets in that span.
